Dragon
2012 is the Year of the Dragon!
First introduced for the last Year of the Dragon in 2000, the "Crystal Zodiacs" Dragon was designed by Gabriele Stamey.
The dragon measures 5 3/4" long and features clear and frosted crystal. He comes with a mahogany wooden stand and a gorgeous glimmering crystal ball "pearl".
While we do not deal with current Swarovski product, this particular dragon is quite rare in that it comes in the distinctive orange Crystal Zodiacs packaging, which we believe was only available during 2000. Also included in this special packaging is the original certificate / booklet showing the original 12 zodiac pieces. This was before the launch of the miniature set in 2001/2002 (all of which retired in 2005), and the more recent set of larger zodiac animals.
The dragon has gone through several theme group and packaging changes. Originally part of the Crystal Zodiacs theme, then moved to the Fairy Tales theme group and is now part of the Fables and Tales theme group.
A great gift for anyone born in 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000 or this year, 2012.
